Supervisor Training

Based on international “best practice” approaches, the TUM Graduate School supports doctoral candidates and their supervisors with supplementary measures and services. It also offers a framework for the supervisory relationship.

TUM-GS is currently developing a supervisor training concept tailored specifically to the requirements that apply to supervision in the TUM context. A workshop will be offered first as part of this program:

Doctoral Supervisor Training

This two-day workshop is geared primarily toward young professors and postdocs. Its goal is to inform supervisors of international trends in PhD supervision and to offer them a platform for professional dialogue.

During the workshop, presentations on subjects such as the design of the supervisory relationship and selection of promising applicants offer fresh impetus. Roundtable discussions and peer group coaching give participants an opportunity to share their experiences with one another.

Date: October 17–18, 2018
Location: Exzellenzzentrum (TUM Graduate School), Room 10
