Course Objective: The route to academic success leads past scenic stages of motivated research work, goes through some muddy phases of frustration, and also involves several obstacles to overcome—among others scientific writing. Appropriate equipment is essential to enjoy the way and seize opportunities. This workshop gives young scientists a systematic introduction into the standards of scientific paper writing in English and offers them a toolkit to master the process of writing. Participants will learn how to make their research story relevant to the audience and how to communicate their message effectively. They will develop genre awareness and sensitivity for both structure and style of scientific papers by accomplishing hands-on tasks in a collaborative atmosphere.
Learning Outcomes: At the end of this workshop, the participants will be able

- To customize their paper to reader needs
- To upgrade their skills needed for text optimization
The course qualifies as "subject-related courses" according to Annex 2 of the Regulations of the Informatics Faculty Graduate Center and §15 (8) of the Statutes of the TUM Graduate School.
