The TUM Graduate School is initiating the photo competition “My research highlights 2024” to look back and celebrate your research highlights in 2024. Share your personal success, whether it was a presentation at a conference, a research stay abroad, a successful experiment, a research retreat, or something completely different. After viewing the submissions, all doctoral candidates are invited to vote and choose their favorite photo! The lucky winner gets a gift voucher for the TUM Shop.
Submission period: 3 December 2024 - 20 January 2025
Who can participate? All current TUM doctoral candidates and doctoral candidates who completed their doctorate in 2024.
Requirements for the pictures: Digitally taken photos with camera or cell phone from the year 2024, good quality, only one submission per person.
Where and how can I apply?
Please send the photos by e-mail to publicrelations(at)gs.tum.de, subject of the e-mail: Photo Competition “Research highlight 2024”. Please include 2-3 lines about the picture with reasons why it is the highlight of your year and (if necessary) the names of the depicted persons.
Price: The winner will receive a voucher for the TUM Shop, and he/she will be determined by voting (MyVoTUM) by the TUM-GS Community.
Data protection and Copyrights
By entering the competition, participants agree that their submitted photos may be used for the purposes of the competition, including voting via MyVoTUM, the TUM Graduate School newsletter, the TUM-GS website, and our social media channels. The copyrights to the photos remain with the photographers. The selected participants will be informed about the use of their photos.
Copyright
Participants hereby affirm that they own all rights to the submitted visual material. They guarantee that the visual material is free from third-party rights and that the depiction of individuals does not violate any personality rights. If there are recognizable individuals in the visual material, the affected individuals confirm their consent for the publication of the material. Participants are willing to confirm these assurances in writing if requested. In the event of third-party claims arising from a violation of their rights, participants release the organizers from any liability.
Grant of Rights
By submitting the application documents, participants in the competition agree that their visual material can be used by the TUM Graduate School free of charge for the following purposes: media coverage about the competition, the website, and social media posts. The use of works by the TUM Graduate School for press and public relations within the framework of the competition and the exhibition is also permitted. It is noted that legal recourse is excluded.
Data Protection
For the implementation and organization of the entire competition, including announcements, submission and announcement of the winner, the data of the participants will be collected. This includes, in particular:
- Use for the administration of contribution submissions,
- Contacting the involved parties as part of the organization,
- Access to personal data is limited to the event organizers.
Deletion
Please contact publicrelations(at)gs.tum.de to delete your personal data.
Consequences of not giving your consent
You have the right not to agree to this declaration of consent. However, since the data marked as mandatory fields are required for the competition, you cannot participate in the competition without giving your consent.
Your Rights
- a right to rectification or erasure or to restriction of processing or a right to object to processing,
- a right to data transferability,
- in addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Bavarian State Commissioner for Data Protection.
Consequences of revocation of consent
From receipt of the declaration of revocation, your data may not be further processed and will be deleted immediately. The revocation of your consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out up to that point. Please send your revocation to the address below.
Deletion of data
The data will be deleted 6 months after the start of the competition.
