The annual retreat of the AdONE research group again marked a highlight of the year: The newest cohort was warmly welcomed into the community and Ph.D. students took center stage, presenting their diverse projects. We enjoyed three days of kowledge exchange, intense collaboration and discussions about new ideas.
To practice presentation skills, speakers had the opportunity to be video recorded and then receive feedback from an expert, which provided our doctoral students with valuable insights and opportunities for improvement. Alumni guests, representing both industry and academia, shared their rich experiences, offering unique perspectives on the challenges and career opportunities within and beyond the academic realm. The retreat also featured round table discussions focusing on the latest advancements and applications of AI tools, creating an environment where ideas and experiences were exchanged, diverse perspectives were explored, and tipps and tricks were shared. Amidst the academic engagements, the retreat embraced the outdoors with a rejuvenating hiking tour, allowing participants to connect in a more relaxed setting.
The AdONE annual retreat not only celebrated the research endeavors of its members but also fostered a sense of community, collaboration, and learning that will shape the trajectory of future projects and endeavors.
