The RTG-UGI
The RTG-UGI is structured in up to three cohorts of doctoral candidates, each building on the previous one(s).
The first cohort constitutes our Exploratory Phase, with a focus on creating a strong foundation of methods and knowledge.
The second cohort is our Integration Phase, where our focus is cooperation between clusters and subprojects radiating into our design.
Lastly, the possible third cohort will be our Transformation Phase, with a new cluster system that will extend our research to a new, larger scope.
The clusters and subprojects of the RTG
Within the SET framework, we explore the potentials of operationalization, substitution, and integration in the development and implementation of novel UGI within three research clusters (RC), each focusing on key urban development challenges. This will create testbeds in which to explore the feasibility of the approaches.
During the three phases of the RTG-UGI, the clusters will be in constant realignment to suit the changing nature of the research, from a more parallel structure in phase 1 to an integrated approach in phase 3.
