Schmidt Science Fellows seeks to create a new generation of scientific leaders through a combination of a postdoctoral fellowship of $110,000 a year, Science Leadership Training and Mentorship, as well as a Lifelong Fellowship.

In order to be eligible for nomination to the Schmidt Science Fellows application process, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Conduct their graduate degree in the natural sciences, engineering, math, or computing.
- Expect to complete all of the requirements for the conferral of their doctorate in one of these fields between 15 May 2025 and 30 June 2026.
- Be nominated by a designated official at one of the nominating partner institutions.
- Being a Doctoral Candidate at the Technical University of Munich.
