Talking Science: Neuroscience Event for PhD candidates

Talking Science is a unique opportunity to meet and talk about neuroscience with a leading researcher in an informal atmosphere - a two-day program for the PhD students of LMU, TUM, and the MPIs.

The main talk will take place on Wednesday, Dec 14th 11:00 a.m. Room B01.019 LMU Biocenter, Martinsried. 

Title: "Self-tuning neurons and firing rate homeostasis in experience-dependent plasticity"

The overall event is scheduled for Wednesday-Thursday, the 14th-15th of December 2016. “Talking Science” is a unique program, organized for PhD and Master students by PhD students to provide an opportunity to get in touch with experienced researchers in an informal atmosphere. The program starts with a talk by Prof. Turrigiano (open to the public).

Moreover, the program features round table discussions, one-on-one meetings, an open discussion forum, breakfast, lunch and dinner with the speaker.

In the course of this event Prof. Gina Turrigiano will spend time with interested students discussing her research, her path through science and academia and other career related topics. This is your chance to meet a world-known scientist and chat in an informal environment.
