TUM Graduate Dean Hans-Joachim Bungartz and TUM-GS managing director Michael Klimke visited the Russian university last week. There are already cooperations between TUM and Petersburg Polytechnic University on many levels. Now TUM-GS is exploring a closer collaboration at the PhD level.

Prof. Bungartz stressed that the universities face similar challenges, especially with regard to graduate education. There are several research areas where PhD candidates from both universities do research, for example in automotive engineering, super computing, or life sciences.
