Info-Event: Doctoral Research Collaborations in Latin America
Latin America plays a pivotal role in addressing globally interconnected challenges—from climate change and public health to sustainable development. This info session is designed for doctoral candidates conducting or planning research stay in Latin America and offers practical insights, networking opportunities, and firsthand experiences from researchers in the field.
Our keynote speaker, Prof. Anja Rammig, will present the groundbreaking AmazonFACE project, one of the most anticipated experiments in the fields of ecology and climate change science, focused on studying the resilience of the Amazon rainforest.
A panel discussion will follow, featuring Sören Metz, TUM Liaison Officer in São Paulo, alongside doctoral and postdoctoral researchers sharing their experiences on the ground. From navigating language barriers and transportation logistics to integrating fieldwork into a packed academic schedule, the event will offer tips and tools to support your research journey. Topics will range from interview studies in Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile, to energy research in Ecuador—just a few examples of the diverse projects and experiences that will be shared.
To round off the evening, enjoy networking over a buffet featuring Peruvian causas limeñas, Argentinian empanadas, and other delicious dishes from across Latin America.
