The Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation invites all (junior) researchers to this year’s award symposium of the 2022 Heinrich Wieland Prize. It will honour Professor Xiaowei Zhuang of Harvard University and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Cambridge MA, USA, as laureate for developing ground-breaking single-molecule and super-resolution imaging methods and applying these to make seminal discoveries in cell biology and neurobiology.
Venue: Nymphenburg Palace, Munich
Date: Thursday, 6 October 2022
Speakers at the symposium are:
- Professor Karl Deisseroth, Stanford University and Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Stanford CA, USA
Inner workings of channelrhodopsins and brains
- Dr Jan Ellenberg, EMBL Heidelberg, Germany
Imaging processes of cell division across scales
- Professor Stefan W. Hell, MPI for Multidisciplinary Sciences, Göttingen, and MPI for Medical Research, Heidelberg, Germany
Molecular-scale resolution in fluorescence microscopy
- Professor Xiaowei Zhuang, Harvard University and Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Cambridge MA, USA
Illuminating biology across the nanoscale & genome-scale by imaging
