The topic of the Summer/Winter School is “Climate-Responsive Sustainable Resource Management”. We are offering five fully funded positions for TUM doctoral candidates to participate in both, the Summer School at UNESP, taking place from 23 September until 30 September 2024, as well as the corresponding Winter School at TUM from 9 December to 13 December 2024.
Alongside fellow doctoral candidates from UNESP, you will experience a unique program full of networking opportunities with scientists from both institutions as well as stakeholders from industry, new perspectives on your research, and excursions in the states of Sao Paulo and Bavaria. The call for application is open from 12 March until 15 April. To foster interdisciplinary collaboration, we encourage applications from all TUM Schools. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a transformative experience that combines academic excellence with global collaboration!
Focus on Climate-Responsive Sustainable Resource Management
In the face of climate change, research is crucial for advancing strategies that promote sustainable utilization and management of renewable resources as raw material or energy source around the globe. Through research, we can discover innovative solutions to address environmental challenges, optimize resource use, and strengthen ecosystems against disruptions caused by climate change.
Applying this knowledge to practical strategies directly contributes to achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including climate action, life below water, life on land, and responsible consumption and production. Insights gained from research also play a key role in shaping policies that align with the SDGs, promoting the integration of sustainable practices across various industries.
Invitation for Participation
We invite five doctoral candidates from TUM to participate in both the Summer School program at UNESP and the Winter School program at TUM, alongside five doctoral candidates from UNESP. The Summer/Winter School program offers participants a platform to showcase their research projects, gain interdisciplinary perspectives, align their work with SDG-contributing strategies, and explore funding opportunities for future research endeavors.
Prof. Eleni Gomes (UNESP) and Prof. Michael Zavrel (TUM) will be actively involved as academic mentors in the TUM-UNESP Doctoral Summer/Winter Schools to ensure continuous support for the participants.
