First-Generation Academics Info and Networking Event
Kurse & Veranstaltungen |
Many First-Generation Academics within TUM’s community have already overcome several obstacles and found their own way into academia. With our First-Generation Academics event series, we strive to provide support for First-Generation Academics through exchange, information, networking, and practice-oriented guidance.
In our next info and networking event on Wednesday, 20 May, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Garching-Forschungszentrum, we will explore how social background can bring both challenges and unique strengths to academic and professional journeys. We will also take a closer look at practical aspects of the doctorate—such as the implications of different funding options—and discuss hurdles that can make the transition into the job market particularly demanding for first‑gen academics.
All TUM doctoral candidates, TUM master’s students, their supporters, and allies within the TUM community interested in the topic of First-Generation Academics are welcome to join our event.
